Diva's Guide To Sports: What To Wear
Diva's Guide To Sports is a new weekly column for TSD Magazine written by Cherie Lampley. It will consist of insight, humor, and helpful tools for women who love sports.
What To Wear
March is my favorite month. It truly is madness. I'm already sharpening my pencils for the NCAA tournament. And being a Buckeye fan, if they don't win their next two games against Purdue and Michigan State, I will likely be filling out an NIT bracket. Do they even make those?
March also means the warm weather is coming. And for this Midwestern girl, it couldn't come soon enough. And with the warm weather, we strip off the layers and get to the cute tees and shorts. Here is a list of some of the best items for women who love sports.
1. The Girl Jersey. There are good girl jerseys out there and bad ones. Please don't do a Jessica Simpson on us. I love pink. But if pink is not one of the teams colors, it will not be on my jersey. With the NBA season heating up, here are a few selections that are cute and still show your support for your favorite team:
2. The Cute Tee. Every girl needs some
cute tees in their closet. T-shirts are comfy and simple. You can pair
them with your favorite pair of jeans (or mini) and sneakers. You don't
have to get too cute with the cute tee. Heels are not needed. Going to
a sports bar in sneakers is not a sin. Here are tees that I will be
purchasing featuring my favorite baseball team: NOTE: There is a baseball tee that I like a lot but Alyssa Milano is in the picture. Click here if you want to see it. 3. Sneakers.
Speaking of sneakers, every diva needs to own a few pairs of sneakers.
They can be as flashy and as simple as you like. I love Jimmy Choo and
Manolo but I NEED my sneakers. We have Nike, Adidas, Converse, and even
Champion @ Payless are decent. If you are not up on sneakers, I
recommend reading Sneakerboxx,
a blog about sneakers, sports and hip hop. Great read. So read up and
visit your local Lady Foot Locker. Here are some of my favorites: 4. Hoodies.
Yes spring is coming but it still gets chilly at night in the Midwest.
Like jerseys, there are good ones and bad ones. Please don't try this one found on mlbshops.com Ruffles on a hoodie? Anyway, here's a hoodie that I would sport: 5. The Fitted Hat. Yes
there are the hats with the strap on the back but I like em fitted. And
with hats, they can be as flashy or simple as you like. A friend of
mine had a scarlet and gray hat with the NY logo on the front and the
Buckeye logo on the back. He got many compliments. Next time you're at
the mall, check out your local Lids or Hat Zone. A few hats I could deal with: So get your shopping on. Find these items at MLB Shop, Lids, OSU Apparel, NBA Store, and Lady Footlocker.

thanks for the shout out...keep up the good work...I've added you to my blogroll
cheers,

I enjoyed reading this post, and to see that there are other women that want feminine but not trashy sports wear. I write for Love the Game, Don't Like Puck Bunnies and we're designing a storefront to sell apparel for hockey fans with a particular focus on designing apparel for the female that isn't pink or streetwalker wear.
